Ball hockey evaluation day will be TBD at the location TBD and will involve the player skill assessment, divisional games and goalie evaluations.
On Saturday, we ask that you try and bring your child to the division times so they can run through the skills part of the evaluations. The game part of evaluations is set up to specific times. This is so we have the same age players playing against each other. We request everyone do their best to run through the skills assessment. The more player data we have, the more we can balance the teams for each division.
When you arrive on Saturday, proceed to the Check-in table and the Volunteers will guide your child through the process. The skills will take about 15 minutes to run through and the game will be approximately 20 minutes. Of course, wait time will depend on how many children are in the queue. Everyone should expect to be there for approximately one hour. Goalies are asked to come at their designated times for their age groups, so you have an opportunity to play in the games and be evaluated.
We understand the timing is not ideal, we are limited by the amount of dry floor space in Richmond. There are many factors in determining the skills of all the players. If your child is unable to make assessments, we understand. However, all players are strongly recommended to attend both skills and games. Only those players who have pre-contacted RSDMBHA Board will be excused and still included in our draft. Any player not attending evaluations or games without approval will still be a part of the draft at the discretion of the board. As mentioned before, the more information we have, the better we can balance the teams.
All the evaluations require a lot of volunteers. The more help we receive, the smoother the whole process will be. We also will write letters for volunteer hours for schools. Thanks and have a great ball hockey season.
